Down and feather filling labels generally contain two parts:
- Down % (which represents the insulation portion)
- Feather % (which represents whole feathers and all other components such as broken feathers, down fibers & feather fibers, chicken feathers/fibers and residual matter.)
Each labeling standard/region requires a minimum amount of down % per label and has limits on the other components. Generally, the higher the down percentage, the better the product.
